Launch of ECLT-funded CLEAR project
23 November 2011
The ECLT-funded CLEAR project, one of the largest investments to combat child labour in agriculture in Malawi, was officially launched on Wednesday 23rd November, 2011. The launch, attended by over 1,000 members of the local community, took place in Khwere village in Mchinji district, one of three target districts of the project. The guest of honour, Minister of Labour, the Hon. Dr Lucious Kanyumba MP, led stakeholders in the signing of a certificate of commitment to support initiatives aimed at eliminating child labour in Malawi.

Launch of ECLT-funded PROSPER project
11 November 2011
The ECLT-funded PROSPER project, one of the largest investments to combat child labour in agriculture in Tanzania, was officially launched on Friday 11th November, 2011. The guest of honour, Minister for Labour and Employment, the Hon Gaudentia Kabaka MP, publicly committed the government to the project in a ceremony attended by stakeholders from the tobacco sector, the UN, NGOs and officials from local government. The launch, which took place at the Blue Pearl Hotel in Dar es-Salaam, was a key part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of independence for Tanzania.
