NOTES
EDUCATION
  • 39% of pupils (1'100) are learning in a conducive environment (project objective is 90%, 3% compared to project start baseline study)
  • Enrolment rate in Ngala (Dowa district) +45% increase (over 2002-2004 period); 630 additional children. Dropout rate down 32%; repeat rate is down by 33%
  • Enrolment rate in Dwanga (Kasungu district) +9% increase (over 2003-2004 period); 160 additional children. Dropout rate down 33%; repeat rate is down by 30%
  • Adult literacy classes introduced

WATER
  • 77% of households (approx. 13'000 individuals) have access to safe water
    (target 100%)
  • 60% of population (approx. 10'000 individuals) are within 500 meters of protected water point (target 90%)
