Engagements with the STP
The ECLT Board has consistently encouraged the ECLT Foundation and STP to collaborate and leverage each other’s strengths on child labour. In 2023, ECLT intensified engagement with STP through regular consultations and discussions. In turn, the STP established a platform for ECLT to promote awareness of its mission, initiatives, and tools in combating child labour among STP members and suppliers. The presentations by the ECLT Foundation led to the identification of particular tools and training programs that are required by STP members and suppliers.
As a result of the collaborative efforts between ECLT and STP, there are ongoing discussions about a pilot joint training project scheduled for 2024. Additionally, there are ongoing talks between ECLT and STP regarding the potential involvement of STP in a pilot skills training project planned for Mozambique.
