Engage key decision makers
ECLT mobilises key stakeholders, through global events, networks and platforms, to identify, develop, and implement sustainable solutions to child labour.
To complement our work in rural communities, ECLT prioritises multi-stakeholder efforts and social dialogue as part of the long-term sustainability and scalability of our work against the root causes of child labour. We bring together government, employer and worker representatives, farmers associations, civil society and local leaders to secure concrete commitments, build capacity at national level and close policy gaps.
Promoting responsible business practices
Aligning business policies and practices against child labour
On December 10, 2014, thirteen companies signed the ECLT Pledge of Commitment.
Through this sector-wide agreement, members make a public commitment to uphold robust policies on child labour, conduct due diligence and provide for remediation consistent with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). The ECLT Pledge of Commitment provides a coherent framework for businesses to confirm and strengthen commitments, align actions and generate supply chain efficiencies.
