Baseline survey

This is a survey designed to establish initial conditions against which the effects of a project can be compared. For example in child labour this means identifying: how many, and what percentage of, children work; how many hours they work and what type of work they are involved in.

Malawi: baseline survey
Mozambique: baseline survey

Evaluation

Mid-term evaluations provide independent analysis of progress against the initial project targets to assess whether the project is on track. It may identify problems and solutions. If a baseline survey exists the evaluation may include data to identify if the has had an impact on the level of child labour. Final evaluations provide an independent evaluation of the project against its initial targets. If a baseline survey exists it will include a survey to assess whether the project has impacted on prevalence of child labour in the area.
