The ECLT Foundation is an innovative and unique initiative, which is supported by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), and aims at combating child labour in tobacco growing. Its members are representatives of the trade unions, the tobacco growers and corporate sector, namely:

• the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers Associations (IUF);
• the International Tobacco Growers Association (ITGA);
• Alliance One, Altria Group, British American Tobacco, Imperial Tobacco Group PLC, Japan Tobacco Inc., Philip Morris International, Scandinavian Tobacco Company, Swedish Match, Tribac Leaf Limited and Universal Leaf Tobacco Co., Inc.
